Questions & Answers

  • Question:
If I get my leather wet, Will the leather shrink up and choke me to death… ???

    Answer:
Not quite, in fact, if you are wearing our leather wares next to your skin, it should stretch and become softer. We use goat leather, which readily absorb your body oils and salts which ultimately conditions the leather, giving our wares that soft as a baby's bottom feel.

  • Question:
What's the difference between the hemp jewelry and Hand-braided leather wares.

    Answer:
Huge difference!!! Both materials have been around since the beginning of time. One gets you high and makes you think your getting laid and the other actually gets you laid!!!! ha ha no just joking, !!! When wearing leather next to the skin, leather wins hands down. The more you wear Joe Natural leather, the more defined that the weave becomes, the leather becomes softer, more pliable, it works great with the body's chemistry. The leather binds to your body oils which conditions the leather, almost breathing it with new life. The salts from the skins tend to keep bacteria from growing which can cause things to smell and look bad. Hemp on the other hand, the more you wear it, the less defined it becomes…..the more it smells, more bacteria ….it pretty much becomes like one big smelly rope….its not leather, it never will be. Anything that makes you itch or causes your skin to be red, just isn't meant for wearing or attracting the opposite sex!!!! Hey guys and girls, no dreams or funny illusions……..experience leather, its track record speaks for itself.!!!

  • Question:
Do you recommend cleaning the leather wares.

    Answer:
Absolutely…!!! Like all leather, its good to wash the leather wares with saddle soap or let it soak over night…

  • Question:
Why does the color of the leather change over time?

    Answer:
That's one of the characteristics of leather. For a more chemical term, it's a oxidation-reduction reaction. Leather is dynamic, water, rain, the sun, your body oils and salts, the air….overtime your leather wares will change slightly toward a a darker shades. If you want to try to keep It as close to the color as when you purchased it, then do not wear it in the shower or swimming or in swimming pools and do not wear it everyday of the year. You can do all those things, but it will tend to become shades darker over time and like anything change!!!

  • Question:
Why does the leather appear to have two tones or shades throughout the weave???

    Answer:
When we process the leather, we do not bombard the leather with a lot of chemicals. When you take the hide in its natural state. You have the top part of the hide where there was once the hair/fur and then you have the bottom part where it was next to the organs, muscles. Like I said before, when we treat the leather, we do not bombard the natural leather with a lot of chemicals… We Let leather be leather, naturally!!! Our technique has been passed down for thousands of years, the natural way. Majority of all leather will have color variations throughout the leather a two tone look. Understand that these color variations are natural and should be considered leather beauty marks. It's a more natural approach, its healthier and best of all, leather is still leather using our Joe Natural technique.
